Introducing Ellanor Ruby
SEPTEMBER 2005

We thought it might be time to share some more photos of Ellanor. Over the course of the past year or so, I have taken selected favourites and painstakingly worked in Photoshop to remove the tapes, the tubes the bruises, that covered her tiny face in life. One day soon I will add a few examples of pre- and post-Photoshop files here (NEW: move your mouse over some of the images to see 'before' photos).

As I worked up the strength to gaze at her face and actually work on the images, I found it quite healing to be so close to her, all zoomed in! I will never forget the shock Steve and I both felt, that first time I toggled between a 'before' and then an 'after' image. Our breath was literally taken away. It was, in some respects, like we were seeing her for the first time. Without all the physical barriers of awful, necessary hospital paraphernalia. Without the bruising she acquired during the birth.

We hope you enjoy these photos. They are just a small handful of the 300+ that we have of our precious girl. And like all proud parents, we love to show off our little baby! So consider this our virtual stroll through the shopping centre... we hope you stop to look in her pram.
